Les donn\u00e9es de sismique r\u00e9fraction sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement recueillies dans le cadre de projets hydro\u00e9lectriques et de g\u00e9nie pour lesquels la profondeur du substratum rocheux et les renseignements sur la fracture et la zone de cisaillement s\u2019av\u00e8rent cruciaux.<\/p>\n<p>La sismique r\u00e9flexion, quant \u00e0 elle, est id\u00e9ale pour cartographier les couches stratigraphiques. Le principe de la sismique r\u00e9flexion s\u2019\u00e9tend du profilage en tr\u00e8s haute r\u00e9solution de couches de s\u00e9diments du fond marin\u00a0peu profond, \u00e0 la cartographie g\u00e9ologique profonde.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"h2resize\">Un lev\u00e9 de sismique r\u00e9fraction consiste \u00e0 provoquer une vibration transitoire en surface et \u00e0 enregistrer le passage des ondes sismiques dans le temps,\u00a0\u00e0 l'aide de capteurs sp\u00e9cifiques.<\/h2>\n<p>Ces ondes sont r\u00e9fl\u00e9chies ou r\u00e9fract\u00e9es aux changements d'\u00e9lasticit\u00e9 et\/ou de densit\u00e9 aux fronti\u00e8res des couches g\u00e9ologiques.
